What can a carer do
Viewing records of people I am caring for
Click the 'Sharing' button and then click 'Friends/Family'.
The ‘Friends/Family’ page is split into two sections: 'People I look after' and 'People looking after me.'
Every record you have access to will display under ‘People I look after.' Every carer who has access to your record will display under 'People looking after me’.
To view a record, click on the carer’s name or click 'View'.
Becoming a carer
Patients or their clinicians can invite a carer from the ‘Friends and family' tab of the ‘Sharing' page in the patient’s record.
Inviting a carer
To invite a patient as a carer, a patient or a professional can go to ‘Sharing > Friends/Family’ and click ‘Add carer', and add the carer’s name and email address. Once the form is completed, an invitation will be sent to the carer’s email address. When the carer accepts, they will have access to the patient’s record and the patient and their other carers will get an email notification.
Accepting an invitation
Once you receive the invitation via email, you need to follow the link. If you are already registered, this will accept the invitation. If you are not registered, the link will take you to a registration form. Once you’ve registered, you’ll be added as a carer.
