Accessing your account
Logging in and out
Log in to your PKB account
You can log in with your email address and password. Alternative methods of logging in may be provided based on your location.
You can tick the box to show your password if you wish to see what you have entered.
Choosing a password
You must choose a password when you first register.
For security, your password must:
10 or more characters long.
Contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one special character and one number.
Valid special characters: !"#$%&'*+,-.\:;<=>?@[]^_`{|}~
Changing your password
Click the ‘Password' tile on the ‘Profile’ page and complete the form.
Password reset
Click the 'Forgot password' link on the login page and follow the instructions.
Logging out
Click the ‘Log out’ button in the top right corner.
Inactivity timeout
PKB will warn you after 25 minutes of inactivity and provide you with the option to either 'Stay connected' or to 'Log out'. If neither is selected before 30 minutes of inactivity, then you will automatically be logged out of PKB.
Care plans, questionnaires and messages are automatically saved as drafts every minute, but any other changes made will be lost.
Interacting with records
Viewing data
In PKB, information can come from health and care teams, patients and their carers, and device integrations.
Most datatypes have the source displayed, to show the user who added the data, when they added it and how it was added.
Some items can be clicked on to see a more detailed view, such as test results & appointments.
Privacy labels
Privacy labels are a way for you to categorise each data point in your record. You can then decide who has access to each one of the categories, and this determines what they can see in your record. For example, if you had a carer who you did not want to view any data in your record relating to sexual health, you would not give them access to ‘Sexual health’, and they would not be able to see any data with this label.
The privacy labels that you can assign to data are:
General Health
Mental Health
Sexual Health
Social Care
Data without a privacy label
Symptoms & measurements do not currently have privacy labels displayed, and patients cannot change the privacy labels for these items. Any symptom or measurement added via the user interface is stored as general health.
Editing & deleting data
Users can control who can see data in a record by editing the privacy label; this does not change the content itself. Patients can only edit or delete data that they have added. Professionals can edit or delete data that they or their team have added.
Users can also visit the sharing settings, where they can:
Add or remove carers, professionals or teams
Change which users have access to which privacy labels

Sending a message
To send a message, click the ‘Send message’ button on the homepage or from the Events and messages page, select the recipient(s) and add the message content.
Please note, if the ‘ Send message’ button doesn’t appear, this is because you do not have any contactable professionals or carers.
