Feature updates
1. Allergy data migrated to FHIR store
We have completed the migration of existing allergy records into our FHIR store and updated our User Interface (UI) to display allergy data directly from this store. This transition is seamless, ensuring allergy records continue to be displayed without disruption to existing patient or professional workflows. This backend migration is essential foundational work that will allow us to surface existing and future allergy data from GP records in our UI from October 2026, for patients who have consented to adding a copy of their GP data.
Bug fixes
1. Issue revoking organisation grant for a client
We have resolved an issue where revoking access could affect the wrong client, and added a safeguard to prevent similar data errors in future.

Feature updates
1. FHIR test results visible in the UI
Test results sent via FHIR now appear on the patient’s Tests page, alongside their existing results. This includes GP test results, which are pulled into PKB in FHIR format when a patient consents to sharing their GP record. Patients can see this data, as can the professionals and carers they’ve shared their record with.
We will roll this out incrementally to groups of users over the next three days to monitor performance and ensure a smooth rollout.
For a short period, existing results older than 3 years won’t be visible while we migrate them into FHIR. This doesn’t affect test results released by the GP practice, which will be visible whatever their date. We expect the migration to complete in September, after which the full history will return.
To send a FHIR test result, see our dev wiki. For GP data test results, see our upcoming blog post.

Feature updates
1. Improved Wayfinder navigation
We have added an NHS App-styled Back button when accessing PKB via the NHS App Appointment page in a web browser, making navigation more consistent with the NHS App experience.
Bug fixes
We have resolved an issue where users blocking cookies were shown an "unsupported browser" error message upon trying to log in. The system now correctly detects when cookies are blocked and displays a specific guidance message instructing the user to enable cookies in their browser settings to log in.
We have fixed an issue where setting up two-factor authentication (2FA) in some cases displayed an error screen. Users can now enable 2FA seamlessly.

Feature updates
1. Improved error message when a patient accesses a link that was not intended for them
When a patient clicks on a link in an email notification that was intended for a different user, they now see an improved error message. Previously, it was not clear what the user had done to get the error message or what they could do to resolve the issue.
Bug fixes
1. Organisations can now update ordering provider via HL7
We have resolved an issue which meant that test results were not updated in our user interface (UI) if the ‘Ordering provider’ (OBR-16) was updated in an HL7 message. Now, updates to the ‘Ordering provider’ field are reflected in our UI even if no other fields have changed.
2. Professionals now see the correct language when looking at a patient’s record
We have resolved an issue which meant that, when a professional viewed the record of a patient, they saw their own language rather than the patient’s language. A professional will now see the patient’s language when viewing the patient’s ‘Profile’ page.
3. Organisation and team-level IDs are now named correctly on the patient summary page
We have resolved an issue which meant that organisation-level identifiers were not named correctly on the patient summary page. Previously, the identifiers were given the name of the org regardless of their actual name. They are now labelled correctly.

Feature updates
1. Improved appointment information for inpatient and day case appointments
We've introduced new stay indicators for eligible appointments. Depending on the appointment's encounter class and scheduled duration, patients will now see:
Long stay – Plan to stay between 2 to 8 hours
Overnight stay – Plan to stay 1 night or more
These indicators are shown automatically for Inpatient and Day Case appointments. Stay information is calculated using the appointment's encounter class and, where available, its scheduled end time. Appointments ending on the same day are displayed as a Long stay, while those continuing into the next day are displayed as an Overnight stay.with an end date to provide clearer expectations ahead of the visit.
2. Removal of temporary support of $ as a separator in ZTM segment of HL7 A28/A31
We have removed support for the use of $ as a separator between team aliases in the ZTM segment of HL7 A28 or A31 messages, which is used to add patients to teams. The only supported separator is now ~, in line with the HL7 specification. To read more about adding patients to teams using HL7, see our dev wiki.
Bug fixes
1. Patient consent flow for patients re-joining a team after discharge
We have resolved an issue to ensure that patients re-joining a team after discharge are now presented with the consent walkthrough screen to configure their privacy settings.
2. Language reverts during professional and coordinator registration
We have resolved an issue which caused the language to revert to English after it was changed to ‘English - Canada’ or ‘French - Canada' during professional or coordinator registration. You can now select these languages during the professional and coordinator registration process.
3. Inline embedded YouTube/Vimeo display issue
We have resolved an issue which prevented some embedded YouTube/Vimeo links from displaying within the inline viewer.

New features
1. Appointment reminders email notifications
We now send appointment reminders for eligible appointments. Patients and their carers will receive email reminders 7 days and 2 days before their scheduled appointment.

Feature updates
1. Updated patient guidance when adding a journal entry
We've updated the guidance shown on the journal’s ‘Add Entry’ page to remind patients that journal entries may not be routinely monitored by their healthcare teams and should not be used for urgent or emergency medical concerns.
2.Expanded message management for Professional users
Professional users can now assign and archive messages directly from the options menu when viewing messages within a patient's record. Previously, these actions were only available from their own inbox, making it easier to manage messages without needing to switch views.
3.Updated session timeout styling for Wayfinder
We've updated the session timeout screens when accessing PKB via Wayfinder to align with the latest NHS England design and styling guidelines, providing a more consistent user experience.
4.'Help' button now links to the new user guide
Users now see the new user guide when they click on the ‘Help’ button from the PKB user interface. The new user guide contains information that will help users navigate the system and describes key functionality. Other information which is not in the user guide can be found on the PKB wiki. We have made this change to help users find the information they need more easily and to allow us to more easily deploy the user guide in different languages.
5.Team-level config for restricting patient search
We have implemented a team-level configuration which controls whether professionals and coordinators can search for patients using any national ID, or whether the search is restricted to only the team’s default national ID. By default, the configuration will allow professionals and coordinators to search using any national ID.
Bug fixes
1. Patients are now created with the timezone of the creating organisation
We have resolved an issue which was causing patients to be created with a ‘Dublin/Edinburgh/Lisbon/London' timezone, regardless of the timezone of the inviting organisation. Now, the patient is created with the same timezone as the organisation that created their record.
2. Timezone issues data in records
We have resolved an issue which was causing data in records, when viewed in different timezones, to appear as though they were added to the patient’s record on different days. This has now been resolved and data in records will now always display with the correct date.
Technical improvements
1. Enhanced HTTP Security Header Implementation
We have updated our application security protocols by integrating missing HTTP response headers to ensure robust protection against potential vulnerabilities. This update also includes the removal of legacy Internet Explorer workarounds to streamline our caching configurations.

1. Performance improvements for teams with a large volume of messages
We have made performance improvements to reduce message loading times for teams with a large volume of messages.
Bug fixes - Canada only
1. 'About test’ links
We have resolved an issue which meant that patients and professionals could still see the ‘About test’ button on their test history page, depending on the route they took to arrive at the page. Patients and professionals will now not see the ‘About test’ button on any page on the Canada environment.
