Upstream "Customer" Endpoint

This is where you send all your FHIR data: Patient, Observation, Conditions etc. 

You will have one upstream per connection, e.g. EPR.

The data on this endpoint is purely that of the organisations which send to it. 

You have full read/write capabilities on this endpoint. This can be in STU3 or R4. R4 is preferred.

The Customer endpoint will only check if the data is written in the correct format. It ensures that the structure (like brackets, colons, or required fields) is correct and follows the basic rules, but it doesn’t check if the information itself makes sense or is complete. To ensure the data sent to your Customer upstream data store is included in PKB’s Aggregated FHIR endpoint, see the Aggregated business rules information.

If there are errors when the data from you Customer upstream data store is aggregated, PKB will inform you and work with you to correct the data.
