Feature updates
1. Care plan summary date format
We have updated the format of the ‘created’ and ‘edited’ dates shown on the care plan summary page to be (DD Month YYYY).
2. Patient resource can now be read via our FHIR API
Organisations with the appropriate authorisation can now pull the FHIR Patient resource from our aggregated FHIR store.
Bug fixes
1. Typo on team self-registration pages
We’ve fixed a small typo on the self-registration pages to improve clarity.
2. Increased character limit for First name field
We’ve increased the character limit for the First name field to 100 characters to better support longer or hyphenated names.
3. NHS App navigation
We’ve updated the back button navigation logic when accessing PKB via the NHS App. It no longer relies on referrer information, which improves consistency and reliability. Instead, we now maintain a stack of recently visited pages, similar to browser history.
4. Advanced questionnaires
We’ve fixed a bug that caused multiple questionnaire requests to be sent to patients if a professional accidentally clicked the ‘Send’ button more than once. Now, regardless of how many times the button is clicked, only one questionnaire will be sent to the patient.

1. Fix for read receipt delivery for NHS App messages
We have resolved an issue with our notification service that was preventing the delivery of read receipts since Thursday 29th May for NHS App messages sent from Patients Know Best (PKB). Read receipts are now functioning as expected.
Technical improvements
1. Loading time improvements on the Measurements page
We’ve improved the loading speed of the Measurements page for users with large amounts of data. This enhancement ensures a faster and smoother experience when accessing your measurements, even if you have an extensive history.

Painful Gums

2. "Address Line 1" optional on self-registration pages

3. User agreement and privacy notice updated
We have updated our user agreement and privacy notice for all users when registering for PKB for the first time.
4. Advanced questionnaires - email notifications
Team professionals will now receive an email notification when a patient responds to a questionnaire that they sent, or amends their answers.
Bug fixes
1. Display of help link in email notifications
We have fixed an issue where the link to our help pages in email notifications was incorrectly displaying as an http link. The link was always secure (https), but was not shown correctly in the email. This has now been corrected to ensure the secure link displays properly.

Feature updates
1. FHIR API - identifier field
Identifier fields on FHIR resources sent into PKB using the FHIR API must have a system and value, otherwise the resource will not be available via the aggregated endpoint. When searching for a resource via the aggregated endpoint, both the system and value must be included in the search. For an example, see the example QuestionnaireResponse searches on our dev wiki.

New features
1. GP data for any adult in England
Any individual (16+ years of age) using NHS login can now add their GP data to their PKB record.
The following core information will be visible in the PKB User Interface (UI) and accessible via our FHIR APIs :
Demographics: Personal details such as name, date of birth, and contact information
Appointments: Upcoming and past GP appointments
Medications: Medications a patient is taking or has taken
Diagnoses (Conditions): Medical conditions and diagnoses
The following information will initially be accessible via our FHIR API only:
Observations: Clinical notes, measurements, and test results.
Allergies & Immunisations: Allergy and vaccination records.
Once we have completed our FHIR migration work for observations, allergies and immunisations, this information will also be visible in the PKB UI.
You can read more about the GP data integration on our manual GP data for any adult in the UK.
Bug fixes
1. Error for users with matching email and phone
We have fixed an issue where users whose primary email address was also saved as their primary phone number experienced an error when attempting to log in.
2. Landing page when patients self-register for a team
We have fixed an issue where patients who self-registered for a team could have landed on the Home page instead of the Professionals Sharing page after registering. Patients self-registering for a new team are now correctly directed to the Professionals Sharing page instead of the Home page.
3. Error page when registering with NHS login
We have resolved an issue where some patients self-registering for a team via NHS login may have encountered an error page. This occurred if their PKB record was missing a date of birth and had an incorrect email. We now use the details from NHS login, and no error is displayed.
4. Incorrect timestamps for data from SystmOne
We have resolved an issue where timestamps for data received from SystmOne were not correctly reflecting British Summer Time (BST). All relevant timestamps will now display accurately according to local time.
5. EMIS PFS API appointment processing
We have resolved an issue where a single appointment without a booking date from the EMIS PFS API prevented the processing of all other appointments for that affected patient. All appointments will now be processed.

Feature updates
1. Additional supporting text when requesting to change or cancel an appointment
We've updated the supporting text on the Appointment request messaging screen to clarify that messages are intended for the booking team only and will not be read by clinical professionals. Users are now advised to contact their healthcare provider directly for any urgent or clinical concerns. This change helps ensure messages are directed appropriately and reduces the risk of miscommunication.
Bug fixes
1. Resolved rare registration error with NHS login
We have resolved an issue for a rare use case that could have caused an error for patients attempting to register with NHS Login.

New features
1. SMS functionality
Patients Know Best (PKB) can now send SMS messages on behalf of organisations in the UK. PKB can be set up to send SMS to unregistered patients when a new referral letter is received, prompting the user to register for their record. The addition directly supports the NHS eMeet and Greet initiative as well as encouraging overall platform registration.
PKB will only send SMS notifications for new referrals if all the following conditions are met:
The organisation has enabled the SMS referral flow
The organisation sends a new referral letter to the patient via HL7 (HL7 MDM T02 with the document type in TXA-2 marked as RL (Referral letter))
The patient’s record has a mobile number but the patient has not registered
The patient is aged 16 or over
Organisations can read how to set up their http://GOV.UK Notify account and connect to PKB to send SMS here: Gov.notify for sending text messages (SMS).
In the coming weeks, we will be adding an additional feature to queue SMS during unsociable hours.
2. Professionals can delete data sent in error via their organisation’s HL7 of FHIR integrations
PKB professionals can now delete data in a patient’s record that was sent by their organisation via HL7 or FHIR integrations. This allows them to remove data sent in error. For a full list of the data types that can be deleted, please see Can I delete data in the record?
Feature updates
1. Email notifications turned off for patients and carer demographic updates
Patients and carers will no longer receive an email notification when an update is made to their demographics, except if a new email address is added to their account. This covers any updates made via the UI on the Profile page or via an integration.
2. Get your GP data page - text update
We've updated the text on the ‘Get your GP data’ page. It’s now easier to understand that the GP data added to the PKB record includes a wider range of information beyond the appointments, medications, and diagnoses available in the user interface (UI). Plus, we've outlined the upcoming data additions to the UI.
3. Streamlining appointment management - Removing the option to add carers to appointments
We have removed the option to add carers to appointments as attendees. This change helps ensure a smoother and more efficient experience while reducing complexity in managing bookings.
4. Plan templates now support numerical input fields
Teams can add a numerical input field to their plan templates. This field can be used where the team would only like to accept numbers as a response. The minimum and maximum value accepted can also be set. When a patient, professional or carer is completing the plan, they will only be able to add a number within the specified range to this field. For more details about adding numerical fields to templates, please see Number Input.
Bug fixes
1. ‘Not now’ button styling updated
The ‘Not now’ button styling on the ‘Get your GP data’ page now adheres to PKB style guidelines.
2. Performance on ‘Get your GP data’ screen improved
To improve performance and prevent any delays, we've updated the ‘Get your GP data’ screen to only allow users to press the buttons once. This helps us process the requests more efficiently.
3. Time input fields in plans now working as expected
We have resolved an issue with saving and displaying times entered in time input fields on plans. Times will now be saved and shown correctly. For more details on adding a time input field to your plan template, please see Time Input.
4. Issue with connecting to teams when self-registering via NHS Login
We have resolved an issue with patients not being connected to teams when self-registering for the team using NHS login. Patients will now be successfully connected to the teams.
