Women's Health Teams
Introduction
PKB provides women’s health teams and service users with a secure and comprehensive platform to view health and care records, access treatment plans, review medications, and communicate with their care teams via the NHS App.
By improving visibility, control, and accessibility, PKB enables women to participate in decision-making and self-management actively. This is particularly crucial in women’s health, where continuity of care, early intervention, and long-term condition management are key to better health outcomes.
PKB is the all-in-one solution for women’s health services, covering everything from maternity and gynecology to mental health care. Each team contributes data to a shared, patient-owned record, allowing seamless care coordination. Healthcare teams can create individualised care plans, offer a resource library, enable patient-initiated follow-ups, and more.
Current Problems
Failings in maternity services (e.g., Ockenden Review) have highlighted gaps in care.
Medical misogyny leads to delayed diagnoses and unnecessary pain.
Many women face years of misdiagnosis for conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and menopause.
There is a need for better integration of mental health into prenatal care.
Generic, one-size-fits-all care plans fail to address individual needs.
Lack of digital communication between service users and healthcare teams.
Paper-based processes slow down care delivery.

Questionnaires
Patients can initiate a questionnaire by clicking Start Questionnaire on their homepage or directly within the NHS App. Once completed, the questionnaire can be sent to a professional or team.
Teams using the questionnaire tool can ensure the outcome of clinical reviews is recorded, and the patient has a copy. Teams can also identify patients suitable for virtual appointments or PIFU.
The features include
Scoring and calculations
Branching, allowing patients to complete the parts of the questionnaire that are relevant to them
Coded field questionnaires can be mapped to clinical codes
Patients can save drafts
