PKB’s NHS Elective Recovery Plan

PKB’s NHS Elective Recovery Plan

What

Elective recovery is the umbrella for all the recent NHSE initiatives. NHSE have created an Elective Recovery Plan to support patients and hospitals to:

  • Reduce and validate waiting lists

  • Give patients access to data and resources digitally

  • Push more contact with patients

  • Improve patient and clinical experience

  • Provide choices to patients

PKB enhances Elective Care pathways, which include eMeet&Greet, Waiting List validation and management, Waiting well, Outpatient Optimisation, Peri-operative care and Patient-Initiated Follow-Up by giving organisations and patients a central digital platform for all data and digital care pathways to happen at every stage of a patient journey through the NHS.

Hospitals can use PKB for all elective recovery initiatives, not just one. All the initiatives are connected to a patient's pathway through diagnosis, treatment and discharge.

Why

The NHS is struggling with long waiting lists and an increase in patients needing care. Hospitals need to expand capacity to reduce waiting times and reduce disruption of other pressure.

Treatments need to be prioritised based on clinical urgency and with the ability to provide alternative care for patients waiting for treatment. There isn't any transparency for patients; they don't know where they are on the waiting list or even know what they are waiting for.

PKB can help with the current urgent Waiting List Validation priorities, the ongoing long-term patient wait list management, and improved communication between the hospital and its patients.

How

PKB provides a digital tool for all NHSE Elective recovery plan aspects, including giving patients access to hospital data, appointments, and letters. Using the questionnaire/consultation feature to validate patients waiting repeatedly and regularly ensures accurate information when it matters most.

The PKB library and care plan features give patients access to relevant resources and information. The digital NHS shared decision-making tools have been converted into PKB care plan templates. They can be added to the hospital's patient record team today.

Teams using PKB have shown how they have reduced DNAs and increased capacity while reducing phone calls and improving patient and clinical experience.

Teams can use PKB from admission to discharge. Please speak to your Success PM or contact PKB here to learn more
