GetMine is a personal health record held on the user’s own computer, paired with Mina, an AI health steward that helps the user organise and understand their information. The PKB connection lets a user bring their available GP record into GetMine after signing in to Patients Know Best and approving access.

What the connection does GetMine reads the available GP record through Patients Know Best and saves it in the user’s encrypted vault. The current GetMine integration only retrieves data. It does not add, edit or delete information in PKB.

The five-step journey

Open the NHS record connection in GetMine. Select NHS records from Home or Sources.

Register with PKB if needed. A new user opens the public PKB registration page, selects Continue to NHS login and completes registration. An existing PKB user skips this step.

Start the connection from GetMine. Enter the email address attached to the PKB account and select Connect with NHS Login.

Log in on PKB. PKB opens its own credential window. GetMine never sees the user’s password.

Approve GetMine access on PKB. PKB names GetMine and shows the access being requested. The first sync begins after approval.

How consent is presented GetMine’s privacy policy and terms are accepted during onboarding, before the PKB connection begins. GetMine therefore does not add a second GetMine privacy-consent step here. PKB’s access approval remains a separate, PKB-controlled step.

The same GetMine screen supports both paths. Existing PKB users can enter their PKB email immediately. New users open the registration guide first, then return here after registration.

2: Register with PKB if needed

Users new to PKB

A GetMine beta user who does not yet have a PKB account can register through NHS Login without an invitation. Registration remains entirely on PKB.

Select Learn how to register. This opens the GetMine registration guide.

Select Register with PKB. The public PKB registration page opens in the browser.

On PKB, select Continue to NHS login. Complete the registration steps shown by PKB.

Return to GetMine. The GetMine window remains ready while PKB registration is completed.

Finish the PKB registration in the browser. Keep the GetMine window open or return to it afterwards.

Select I’ve registered, continue. This returns to the standard NHS record connection screen.

After opening PKB registration, GetMine keeps a clear return step and a link to reopen the registration page.

3. Link your PKB account to GetMine

Enter the email address attached to the PKB account. Then select Connect with NHS Login.

Continue to PKB. The next two steps are the existing PKB login and approval windows shown below.

Steps 4 and 5: PKB login and approval

These are PKB-hosted windows that already form part of the live GetMine connection. PKB presents its standard credential window, followed by an approval window that names GetMine as the application requesting access.

Step 4. Enter PKB credentials and select Log in.	Step 5. Review the request, then select Approve Access.

PKB approval PKB presents and controls the permission text on this page. GetMine’s current product integration uses the approved connection only to retrieve records; it does not write back to PKB. PKB controls whether the approval page reappears on later syncs.

After approval: the first sync

After PKB confirms the connection, GetMine retrieves the available GP record. The screen shows a real elapsed time and an activity indicator. A large record can take a minute or two on the first sync.

14. Coverage shown during the sync. Medications, test results, vaccinations and appointments are named, with other available categories included as the record is processed.

15. Completion shown only when data returns. GetMine then reports the number of records actually written to the vault and shows a category breakdown.

16. Honest partial and empty states. If PKB returns part of the available record, GetMine keeps the records successfully written and clearly reports the partial result. If no records are written, the existing vault remains unchanged.

Refreshing NHS records

GetMine offers one permanent refresh control and one contextual route into the same NHS connection journey.

17. From Sources. Open Sources, select NHS records and choose Sync now. The expanded panel also shows the connection status, the most recent completed sync and the number of NHS records in the vault.

18. From the Vault when a refresh is due. Mina’s read on the Vault can show an NHS re-scan prompt. Selecting it opens the same NHS connection journey. This prompt appears only when the source is due; the permanent Sync now control remains on Sources.

19. Refresh reminder. Choose Monthly, Quarterly or Never. This is a reminder only; GetMine does not sync automatically.

The NHS panel shows connection status, last completed sync, record count, refresh reminder, Sync now and View records. Account details and counts shown here are fictional.

Viewing NHS records in GetMine

The Vault supports two complementary views. By source shows the contribution from NHS records alongside the other sources in the vault. By category groups the full record into health categories and shows how many records each source contributes. Opening NHS records from the source view then shows the categories represented in the GP record returned through PKB. Records remain labelled as NHS records sourced through Patients Know Best, and Mina can show the records behind a relevant answer.

Privacy and user control

20. Registration stays with PKB. Opening the PKB registration page sends no vault data or form content from GetMine, and the link sends no referrer.

21. Passwords stay private. NHS Login and PKB credentials are entered on PKB’s pages. GetMine never sees them.

22. The connection is read-only. GetMine retrieves records but does not alter the NHS or PKB record.

23. The vault stays local. Records received through PKB are kept in the encrypted GetMine vault on the user’s computer. GetMine does not keep a central copy of the clinical record.

If the connection does not complete

24. Check the email address. It must be the email address attached to the PKB account.

25. Finish NHS Login and PKB approval. Closing the sign-in before approval means nothing is synced.

26. Return to the NHS record connection. If sign-in did not finish, select Connect with NHS Login again. PKB controls whether the approval page reappears on later syncs.

27. Refresh the record later. Select Sync now when the connection is healthy but the user wants the latest available GP information.
